Stop hair fall and grow new Hair!

Hair fall, one of the most common issues, we all face in our life is actually growing worldwide every day. There are two conditions for hair fall, either it’s happening just occasionally due to natural reasons or it is being persistent over time and making you look bald. Moreover, with sedentary lifestyles and increasing stress levels, the number of men and women going in for hair treatments are increasing. But that does not mean all hope is lost. If you’re concerned about hair loss — and that’s a justifiable concern — do not attempt self-medication, and head to a dermatologist instead. But remember, losing around 100 strands of hair every day is normal, so don’t fret if it’s around that number.
Furthermore, the exact cause of hair loss may not be fully understood, but it's usually related to one or more of the following factors:
  • Family history (heredity)
  • Hormonal changes
  • Medical conditions
  • Medications
Your lifestyle affects a lot of your health.  Treatments for hair loss include medications, surgery, laser therapy, and wigs or hairpieces. Your doctor may suggest a combination of these approaches in order to get the best results.
The primary goals of the treatment are to promote hair growth, slow down the hair loss or hide bald patched on the head. If your hair loss is caused by an underlying disease, treatment for that disease will be necessary. This may include drugs to reduce inflammation and suppress your immune system, such as prednisone. If a certain medication is causing the hair loss, your doctor may advise you to stop using it for at least three months.
Medications are available to treat pattern baldness. Two medications that have so far been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat hair loss are:
  • Minoxidil is a liquid or foam that you rub into your scalp, twice a day to grow hair and to prevent further hair loss. It may be used by both men and women. With this treatment, some people experience hair re-growth, a slower rate of hair loss or both. The effect peaks at 16 weeks and you need to keep applying the medication to retain benefits.
Possible side effects include scalp irritation, unwanted hair growth on the adjacent skin of the face and hands, and rapid heart rate (tachycardia).
  • Finasteride This prescription drug is available only to men. It's taken daily in pill form. Many men taking Finasteride experience a slowing of hair loss, and some may show some new hair growth. You need to keep taking it to retain benefits.
Furthermore, in the most common type of permanent hair loss, only the top of the head is affected. Hair transplant or restoration surgery can make the most of the hair you have left. Apparently, surgical procedures to treat baldness are expensive and can be painful. Some of the possible risks that have been noted so far include infection and scarring.
Currently, variety of creams, oils, gels are offered externally along with some methods, such as hair grafting, scalp expansion; however, results are unsatisfactory with unnatural look. In today’s jet age, people are more inclined towards finding for permanent solutions rather than opting for choices that require on and off visits to the doctors. Thus, application of stem cells stimulated with autologous PRP can rather be a reasonable option that can provide visual improvement in hair restoration, texture, strength and growth.

As a principal rule, autologous platelet rich plasma is the richest source of growth factors, which are responsible for stimulating resident stem cells to divide and regenerate rapidly into desired cells. Thus, technology of exploiting stem cells isolated from autologous sources such as adipose tissue, stimulated with your own platelet rich plasma has shown promising results in regulating immune system, hormonal balance, production of new hair follicles and thus improving hair texture and strength.

Hair Transplant: A Success or a Failure?

Hair loss has been a common concern for many people, being victims of current fast paced life style. The common hair loss issues, right from thinning of hair shafts to visibly bald scalp have been more dramatic, irrespective of gender categorization. Stress, hormonal fluctuations, vitamin and protein deficiency as well as steroidal medicines, are typically encountered to be the leading offenders for increasing evidences of hair fall. In this regard, conventional medicine has suggested many topical applications like creams, oils, live ons, etc. But people were more inclined towards other surgical options like hair transplant surgery, with the assumption of it, having higher success rate. However, in defining the percentage of success rates of hair transplants, it would be first necessary to understand, how rate of success may be linked with the possible outcome. Apparently, a transplant procedure with only visible growth of smaller fraction of transplanted hair follicles, can mere...

PRP and its Hair Loss Benefits

There have been many important developments in the world of prolotherapy, during the last couple of years. A recent experimental research has apparently warranted a new post on the subject, which is evidently suggesting that PRP injections coupled with stem cells can double up the speedy growth of hair than PRP injections alone. But many of us still are not able to differentiate between the two and hence the current write up has been intended to provide a brief explanation about its effectiveness. PRP or a platelet rich plasma is an enriched fraction of the blood with suspended platelets, WBC’s and RBC’s. Platelets have been identified to secrete number of good growth factors, that are certainly responsible for stimulating hair growth, when injected into the scalp. However, the research has further suggested that not all PRP can have the same impact on hair growth; in fact, hair loss , can be stopped only if more sophisticated and upgraded technology is been incorporated, wherei...

Can PRP be a blessing for your hair?

In the recent advances, combinational approach of fat derived stem cells keyed up with patients own platelet rich plasma is being promoted as the fascinating medical treatment for variety of applications. Out of many applications, which are still being investigated; hair restoration treatment and anti-ageing facial lifts have been turned out to be blessings in the cosmetic industry, with many people acknowledging the effective, visible outcome. While there is a direct confirmation from medical fraternity that PRP Prolotherapy can naturally re-grow hair follicles by regenerating lost keratinocytes and other auxiliary cells that are helpful for offering structural support. The innovative approach has thus proven to be helpful in regeneration as well as repair of lost cells, revascularization of blood vessels to improve blood circulation and help in providing added nutrients for the faster hair growth. As a matter of fact, within limited time period, this innovative approach has gain...
